FIRST, A LITTLE BACKSTORY...

One night, while cooking with my husband, I couldn't stop thinking about what a heroic job it is that we parents do every day, and how each of us are like quiet unsung superheroes in our own homes, sometimes not even aware of just how amazing we are.

"I'm going to do a photoshoot that allows parents to see just how heroic they really are," I said, quite out of the blue. The man has lived with me for a looooong time. He raised an eyebrow, knowing more was coming. I giggled and said "Picture this: me in a purple unitard and a golden cape, going through a regular parenting day. Doing the dishes, burping the baby, getting the groceries... ya know?"

He paused for quite some time, realized I was dead serious, and then softly said "Um, you're actually going to let people see these photos??" I smiled a big smile and said "Why, yes. LOTS of people!"

I DID INDEED GET A PURPLE UNITARD. I DID DO A SUPER FUN PHOTO SHOOT IN IT. AND THEN...
